Affordable and Quality Housing for All / Conference
Building on the Past, Designing the Future
📅 Date: 13 November 2025
📍 Venue: Ball Game Hall (Míčovna), Prague Castle, Prague
🕘 Time: 9:00 – 16:00 (CET, Prague time)
European countries are experiencing a housing crisis, characterised by a shortage of affordable housing, a loss in quality of new constructions as well as the poor quality of a significant number of existing dwellings. In less than 10 years, between 2015 and 2023, house prices in the EU rose on average by almost 50%.
The European Union has elevated housing to the top of its political agenda, marking a significant shift in both ambition and approach. For the first time, the European Commission has appointed a dedicated Commissioner for Energy and Housing, responsible for developing the first-ever European Affordable Housing Plan, as well as a European Strategy for Housing Construction.
In that context, the Architects’ Council of Europe(ACE), in partnership with the Czech Chamber of Architects (ČKA), is organising a public conference on 13 November 2025.
The conference will provide a timely opportunity to reflect on how architects and urban planners can contribute to shaping more affordable, sustainable, and quality homes for all Europeans.
The event will be livestreamed on the ACE YouTube channel in English and on the ČKA YouTube channel in Czech. French interpretation will be available via Zoom (Meeting ID: 845 0952 8267, password: cka2025).
This event is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
